The Blancett Model 1100 is a turbine flow meter designed for the most demanding oilfield conditions. It withstands pressures up to 344 bar (5,000 psi) and process temperatures ranging from -101 to 232 ?C, featuring a 316 stainless steel body and CD4CU alloy rotor supports?materials chosen to resist abrasive fluids and continuous wellhead service. An explosion-proof version is also available for installation in hazardous areas, backed by a specific user manual published by the manufacturer.
It measures with an accuracy of ?1% and a repeatability of ?0.1% over a 10:1 turndown ratio, covering diameters from 12.7 to 254 mm (1/2" to 10") and flow rates from 2.27 to 18,930 l/min (20 to 171,000 barrels per day). That repeatability is the most critical metric in fiscal measurement and injection control: it guarantees that successive readings under the same conditions remain consistent, serving as the foundation for any reliable production balance.
Installation is straightforward and cost-effective compared to equivalent technologies. It requires only 10 upstream and 5 downstream pipe diameters of straight run and supports mounting in any orientation, from horizontal to vertical, provided the flow direction arrow matches the actual fluid flow. It integrates with Blancett B2900, B3000, and B3100 series flow monitors, K-factor scalers, and smart frequency converters, depending on the type of reading and signal required by your control system.
Typical applications in Vaca Muerta and conventional operations include crude oil measurement, fracturing fluid control, water injection, enhanced oil recovery, well testing, and custody transfer. It is also used in refining, chemical, and petrochemical industries, general industrial processes, and effluent control.
